The answer is No. The Summer Friday policy allows employees to work extra time Monday through Thursday and then leave at noon (12 p.m.) on a designated Friday or alternative day based on department coverage. The extra time should be performed in the week of the designated Friday.

 

Question 2: If an exempt employee worked extra hours by Thursday of the summer hours week and they want to be off the whole day on Friday do they need to take 4 hours of PTO on Friday or 8 hours of PTO. The answer is they can use 4 hours of PTO b/c the Summer Friday policy allows employees to work extra time Monday through Thursday to be able to leave at noon (12 p.m.) on a designated Friday or alternative day based on department coverage. The exempt employee should plan to use 8 hours of PTO if they did not make up any hours for that pay period.
